An investigation into an incident where a loaded gun was found in a loaner car used by independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett is still ongoing, the Somerset County Prosecutor said.
"As far as updates, I'm not going to be commenting or giving any play by play here, that's for sure. We never do with any investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation we'll let you know our results," Wayne Forrest, the prosecutor, told PolitickerNJ.com.
The Star-Ledger reported this week that Forrest was investigating whether any crimes were committed when a Bridgewater Acura dealership found a loaded handgun in a car they had given to Daggett. The Daggett campaign said that the gun belonged to the campaign driver, Ken Argiro, and the candidate called it "an honest error."
