Gov.-elect Christopher Christie has nominated Tom Considine, the vice president and government relations counsel at MetLife, a major insurance carrier, as the new Commissioner of Banking and Insurance. Christie also announced that he would keep two members of Gov. Jon Corzine’s cabinet, Human Services Commissioner Jennifer Velez and Adjutant General Glen Rieth, in their posts.
