In the Green Room: Congressman Rob Bishop (R-UT) on Guns, Property and the EPA

Before the meeting, he sat down with us to talk about the Supreme Court taking up the Chicago gun-ban case and a possible move by the Department of the Interior to give up to 17 areas of land in the West the restrictive “national monument designation”.
We also discussed his concerns about the EPA’s decision to regulate CO2 emissions, which he characterized as “legislative function which is being usurped by the Executive Branch.” This is an issue about which Heritage is also concerned and on which we have written extensively.

Following his speech, Senator McConnell sat down with us In The Green Room, where he discussed how the Administration should be handling Guantanamo Bay detainees and reflected upon how the Administration’s “wrong-headed” approach to terrorism led to the mishandling of the case of Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
